Twitter is, by far, the most popular microblogging service on the web. So popular, in fact, that it has been the target of a recent phishing attack. Twitter New (twitter-new.com) is this attack. The site’s homepage is a pretty good impersonation of Twitter’s, and the login screen is rather convincing. So, armed with an internet connection and a dummy Twitter account, we decided to go digging.

iPhone 4 to hit Aussie shores July 30

The latest product to leave Apple’s headquarters – the iPhone 4 – will hit Australian shores on July 30, and if the reception in the US is anything to go by, it’ll be a big hit. Despite the plague of issues that have surrounded the phone since its launch, apple fanboys and others alike have flocked to the device since its release last month. Apple’s latest phone includes a lot of appealing features, including a super-high resolution display and the video chat software Apple calls Face Time. But only time will tell if the new iPhone lives up to its name over here.

The iPhone 4 will be out July 30 and available on all major networks.

I know they’re ‘so 2003′ and such, but I wanted one for skype because I don’t have a decent mic, and I swear I’m not going to wear it outside the house. YouTube: Why we shouldn’t give up on flash just yet

It all started when Apple refused to allow Flash to run on their iOS platform. We are seeing a decline in the amount of Flash around the web. Many have declared the platform ‘dead’ and have pushed for HTML5 to replace it. But, the war may not be over just quite: YouTube and Google are starting a push to bring back flash and to try and breathe new life into this supposedly dead standard.

DestroyTwitter gets upgraded. Welcome to 2.0

DestroyTwitter (previously described here as the simple twitter client) has had an update. After about a year of 0n and off development, version 2 of Jonnie Hallman’s esteemed twitter client is finally here, and the update brings a few features that we’ve really been holding out for.

Today was an exciting day in Australian politics. After today’s leadership spill, we have a new PM and a new Deputy PM. Julia Gillard is Australia’s first female Prime Minister, and a new leader for our country may have great implications on the Australian technology world.

Facebook gets its act together: Simple privacy setting are on their way

After the recent spate of growing concerns over privacy on social networking giant Facebook, it appears that the company has decided to listen. Kind of. They are rolling out new, simpler privacy settings to users, which will allow us to have a clearer understanding of who can see our stuff. Facebook’s defaults are still mostly public though, but it is at least a step into the right direction. The company is still not completely out of hot water yet though, with some outlets calling it a ‘red herring’, but only time will tell if Facebook has actually decided to sit up and care.
