It, like the iPhone, uses a capacitive touch screen - so it's finger-only (or some of those expensive iPhone styluses)

I wanted one. Note the wantED.

I sold my 7" EeePC netbook recently, in the "knowledge" that Apple would announce the iSlate - and hopefully updated MacBook Pros - at the event. I have saved my pennies for months, anticipating getting my very first Apple laptop, a MacBook Pro 13". I even got up at 4:15am this morning to watch the live coverage of the event.

Boy was I disappointed.

Sure, the iPad (what a stupid name?!?) is cool - but it *is* an iPod touch on steroids, nothing more. *sigh*

I guess I'll be waiting until Apple finally decides to focus on it's roots - the Mac. This iPhone/iPod/iPad frenzy has become distracting, and Apple have shifted their focus to these devices instead :(
It's a shame, because they all need a Mac (or PC) to sync... And iTunes gets more bloated with each version, needing a more and more powerful computer. Counter-productive, IMO. :P

It's just Google Chrome with a battery indicator, WiFi indicator, and a couple extra buttons.

Nothing special.

Oh, and when I installed it in a VM on my iMac, it was slow, painful, buggy and horrible.

If you want to try it out - http://google.com/chrome there you go.
