POLL: Bluetooth headsets
[THE LIGHTER SIDE] Okay, I confess- I bought a bluetooth headset. I know they’re ‘so 2003′ and such, but I wanted one for skype because I don’t have a decent mic, and I swear I’m not going to wear it outside the house. Anyway, I decided that I’d open this up for public opinion. Vote away, and don’t forget to comment!
The spill: A breakdown, and what this means for tech.
Today was an exciting day in Australian politics. After today’s leadership spill, we have a new PM and a new Deputy PM. Julia Gillard is Australia’s first female Prime Minister, and a new leader for our country may have great implications on the Australian technology world. (more…)
We’re back
So, we were down for a while due to a DDoS attack – but now, we’re back online! Yay! We’ll start posting again shortly.
Exploring Tech gets a new site!
So, we’ve migrated the site over to the same server as all of Mulligan Media’s other projects, which doesn’t mean much for you, but it helps us a lot. Along with the change, we have changed the site design to the fantastic ‘Swift’ theme by Satish Gandham, which I think gives the site a much more professional look, and is easier to read than the old blue.
We’ve also added a mobile version of the site, so you can check us out on the go! Simply visit http://exploringtech.com in your mobile phone’s web browser to view the site optimized for mobiles.
Just note that there might be a few bugs across the site in the coming weeks as we reinstate some of the features that we lost in the transfer, and in particular, some old images may be missing.
So, give us your thoughts on the new design, and the site in general!

Apple worried about Woolworths logo.
Can you pick the difference between these two logos? Someone, apparently, couldn’t. Computer giant Apple is threatening legal action against the supermarket chain Woolworths over their new logo. The new woolworths logo (on the left) is, according to woolworths, a “stylized ‘w’ or a piece of fresh produce”. Apple disagrees. They’re launching a claim insisting that the Woolworths logo is too similar. It’s not surprising, given the recent venture by woollies into mobile phones, that Apple is concerned about their territory. But seriously Apple! I didn’t even see the resemblance until you pointed it out, and even now I don’t think the two logos are anything alike! Are Woolworths loosing any sleep over this? I think not.

Also, it looks like this isn’t the first time Apple’s got in a bother about their logo:

QUESTION: What feedreder do you use?

What feedreader do you use? It’s really a simple question, but I’d like to know the answer. I use Google Reader, simply because it looks nice, is easy to use and I can access it from anywhere there’s an internet connection. So… what about you? What fedreader do you use… and why? Comment below, please? Also, while your at it, you might consider adding our rss feed to your list of subscriptions – it’s just over in the sidebar, if you want.
We have a facebook page.
Are you a fan of the site? No? Ah, well…. um… this is kind of embarassing… isn’t it?? Um.. well anyway, visit Exploring Tech’s page on facebook at http://bit.ly/et-facebook
Wacom Light Graffiti
Does the Graffiti Research Lab’s LASERtag project appeal to you, but you don’t have a webcam or a laser? Well, if you have a wacom tablet, you can still do some pretty cool light drawing stuff.
Jon Szymaniak decided he would have a crack at it, and threw together something not unlike LASERtag, except using his wacom tablet to draw on the screen.
