Google Docs now allows simultaneous downloads.

Google has introduced a new feature to it’s popular ‘Google Docs’ application. The application now allows multiple documents to be converted, zippped and/or downloaded at the same time. This feature comes in from Google’s new idea of ‘Data Liberation’. Google believes that you should control your data, and not your applications.

What is RSS?

In response to our question ‘What RSS reader do you use?’ a couple of weeks ago, we received a couple of responses saying that they either don’t use RSS, or they don’t know what it is. Today, I’m going to attempt to explain what RSS is, and why it is so awesome.

Google adds PDF reader to search results.

gpdfOne thing that makes Google great is the ability to search for non-html files, especially PDFs. Today, Google added the option to view PDFs in the browser without the need to load Adobe Reader. The PDF reader is different that the old ‘View as HTML’ option in that it retains formatting. Sounds cool, and it is sure to make searching for PDFs faster.

Kindle will land on Australia’s shores October 19th

The popular Amazon Kindle has been unavailable outside the US since it’s launch, however Amazon announced recently that they have plans to bring the popular ebook reader to Australia by October 19.  Amazon will start shipping the international version for a price of $239USD with most of the Kindle range available at launch. Amazon has failed to mention if the no-pc download service avaliable in the US will carry over here, although we hope so, especially with Telstra’s 3G coverage.

Apple worried about Woolworths logo.

woolappleCan you pick the difference between these two logos? Someone, apparently, couldn’t. Computer giant Apple is threatening legal action against the supermarket chain Woolworths over their new logo. The new woolworths logo (on the left) is, according to woolworths, a “stylized ‘w’ or a piece of fresh produce”. Apple disagrees. They’re launching a claim insisting that the Woolworths logo is too similar. It’s not surprising, given the recent venture by woollies into mobile phones, that Apple is concerned about their territory. But seriously Apple! I didn’t even see the resemblance until you pointed it out, and even now I don’t think the two logos are anything alike! Are Woolworths loosing any sleep over this? I think not.

Also, it looks like this isn’t the first time Apple’s got in a bother about their logo:

QUESTION: What feedreder do you use?

greader

What feedreader do you use? It’s really a simple question, but I’d like to know the answer. I use Google Reader, simply because it looks nice, is easy to use and I can access it from anywhere there’s an internet connection. So… what about you? What fedreader do you use… and why? Comment below, please? Also, while your at it, you might consider adding our rss feed to your list of subscriptions – it’s just over in the sidebar, if you want.
