iPhone augmented reality coming september?

The inside word is: OS 3.1, September. Aparantly, the next iPohne os, coming out in september will make those long awaited augmented reality apps a reality, albeit an augmented one. Have any thought? Comment. What augmented reality app would you like to see? How bad are my puns?

Card.ly please.

New ebsite card.ly is an awesome idea. It allows you too collate all of your information, online or otherwise into a simple, online e-buisness cead you can send to anyone. You can update it on the go, and get a personalised url. Plus you can embed it in your webpage. It’s a great way to show everyone who you are, and where you are.

Google Reader, the fantastic online rss reader, has come onto your desktop, not a desktop app yet, but it is now a google desktop gadget. Now, I don’t use Google Desktop myself, but this seems like a cool feature.

Using Chrome, Firefox 3.5 or a browser with Gears? Then the mylocation feature of google maps is available to you. I have no idea how it does it, but it found me first try. Check it out, just click the button with the circle in Google maps, near the navigation controls.

Firefox 3.5: Two Problems

Okay, so I just upgraded firefox to FF 3.5 and pretty much immediately noticed two things that bugged me. It seems firefox has decided to take the Internet Explorer approach to tabs: Now, there is a “new tab” button attached to the last tab, and (most annoyingly) when you have only one tab open, there is no close button. Luckily, after a bit of searching, I found the solutions. (more…)

Google Redesign?

Noticed this yesterday, didn’t get a chance to post. Has anyone else noticed the ‘new’ google design? Go on… search for something… See the smaller logo and left-hand padding. The whitespace is a bit disconcerting. Greasemonkey script, anyone?

404 Killer Bookmarklet – Cool!

Found this bookmarklet created by instructables user liammk. His bookmarklet opens the current page as a cached version from Google, thereby killing the 404 and showing the page Google has a record of (hopefully pre-404). Now, because it uses Google’s cache, it won’t work for all websites, but it will for most.
